POLYESTER

A synthetic fiber that features quick drying time, high strength, abrasion resistance, and crease resistance; frequently blended with cotton, rayon, or other synthetics.

TWILL

Twill is a type of fabric woven with a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs, such as denim.

Durable water repellent treatments protect fabrics from moisture saturation.

600 FILL POWER DOWN INSULATION

Down is a natural insulator with a high warmth-to-weight ratio. It offers excellent thermal properties, has good lofting characteristics and traps small pockets of air efficiently, which creates a thermal barrier. Higher fill-power down will insulate better than lower fill-power down of the same weight.

TRACEABLE DOWN

Patagonia 100% Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked.

RECYCLED POLYESTER

Derived from industrial polyester and recycled plastic bottles. These yarns use as much as 75% less crude oil than virgin fibres, and they divert waste from landfills and “up cycle” it into useful products. Trapping and regulating body temperature is unchanged. Quick to dry and loft remains the same even when wet.

RIPSTOP

Fabric woven with double thread at regular intervals to achieve small squares that prevent tears from spreading. Usually a nylon or polyester. Used for outerwear, sleeping bags, kites, packs, and tents. Ripstop was originally used in parachutes and sails.

PLAIN WEAVE

The most common of the three fundamental weaves. Each filling yarn passes over and then under each warp yarn, alternating rows.
